Spencer Bacchus, who has spearheaded the attempts to keep online gambling legal, has recently admitted that Republicans "tricked" their way into making Internet gambling illegal. They attached the UIGEA to a port security Bill, a move many believe was as low as politicians could stoop.

Bacchus has also admitted that he and his fellow Republicans will not be able to skirt the issue this time around. He knows the support for legalized online gambling is growing, and there may be nothing he can do about it.

At last check, Frank has now received thirty-four co-sponsors for his Bill. It is a bi-partisan group that is led by Frank. The nation is becoming increasingly agitated with each governmental move in regards to blocking Internet gambling, and lawmakers who have re-elections to worry about must now make a decision.

If they hold their hard lined stance against Internet gambling, there is a strong possibility they will fall out of favor with voters in their home states. That in itself should make Frank's task much easier this time.

The one thing that could slow the process is the amount of work facing the Financial Committee. Online gambling is not high on their priority list these days, but Frank has guaranteed that his Bill will be taken up in a timely manner.
