Thursday was supposed to be the day that online casinos affected by the disturbance of Governor Steve Beshear's attempt to seize their domain names would get their salvation. Instead, the day came and went and the Kentucky state Supreme Court did not offer their opinion.

Now, the online casino industry will wait for the next possible date for the Supreme Court to make their ruling. That date is March 18th, and it represents the day when the Supreme Court will again pass down verdicts.

Back in the middle of 2009, Governor Beshear attempted to seize the domain names of 141 online gambling websites. Beshear claimed that the sites were operating illegally in Kentucky. originally, Beshear won, but a Cour of Appeals stopped the seizures.

When the Appeals Court issued their ruling, Beshear and the state vowed to take their case to the Supreme Court. That is where the case now stands, and many within the industry were disappointed that a ruling did not come down this past Thursday.

"The casinos had targeted this day and were hoping for a decision by the Supreme Court, but it is not the end of the world that the decision did not come this past week," said NOC Online Casino Analyst Danny Jerry, "currently, the law is in favor of the websites, so a delay does not hurt the casinos."

There are several dates that have now become important in this case. The aforementioned March 18th, April 22nd, May 20th, June 17th, August 26th, September 23rd, October 21st, November 18th, and December 16th, are all days in which the Supreme Court will issue opinions. The online casinos and the state are hoping that the ruling comes down at the first of those days in March.
